Katherine currently serves as a founding board member and teacher at The Classical Academy in Alton, Iowa. She began her career in Student Development at Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL, where she mentored and trained student leaders and developed programming and policies for leadership development, restorative discipline, and community building.

After ten years at Trinity, Katherine began homeschooling her children and was introduced to classical education. She was immediately captivated by this philosophy of education and went on to found and direct a classical homeschool community where she spent six years investing in families through academic programming and parent-equipping.

She currently lives in Sioux Center, Iowa, where her family attends First Christian Reformed Church and her husband Geoffrey serves as Professor of Philosophy and Theology at Dordt University. Katherine and Geoffrey have four children, Sophia, Anastasia, Nathan, and Lucy, and one rambunctious golden retriever named Pippin. Katherine holds a BA in English from Miami University and an MA in Theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
